Heathrow security lapse

By | July 21, 2011

I had a ticket from Heathrow to Edinburgh and arrived in plenty of time. Entering security I had to take all my make-up out of the spongebag and put it in a clear bag. They conviscated my deoderant, made me take my belt off, remove my shoes, take out my laptop and iPod from my bag and put me through a metal detector.

As this was happening I remembered that I had forgotten to take my Swiss army knife out of my handbag before leaving Somerset. I decided not to say anything and then, when they confronted me,l would just explain that I had forgotten it was in my bag and hope they would let me post it back to myself (like last time I did the same).

Good news is that they neglected to see it on the scanner. So I put my dangerous make-up back in my bag, my potentially lethal shoes back on and I went straight through, sharp murderous stabbing implement still in my handbag.
