I don’t often go to the park on a week day but the opportunity presented itself and I had had a huge lunch with my Chinese mother and father and needed a walk. As usual there were a lot of people in the park and I spent a lot of time watching a group of people trying to throw things up into a tree to retrieve a small drone.
Children were everywhere in a small class with their foreign teacher playing chasing games, with grandparents and with parents. Several of the parents were whipping their kids up into a frenzy by blowing bubbles.
It occurred to me that much like balloons, bubbles are a very cheap and easy way to entertain children. Who cannot remember chasing bubbles as a child.
