Candy Floss

The Millfield “village fete” had to take place in the tennis centre as rain was forecast. The duties were posted up and I found myself assigned to the candy floss and popcorn stall with Laura, one of the activity staff. Getting there a bit early I had an intensive training session which lasted about 1 minute, signed a form saying I promised to wash my hands a lot and off we went into candy floss production.

The first few were a bit tricky but after a while I got the hang of it and a huge queue started to form. Luckily for me and Laura the popcorn machine was broken. I really can’t understand how we could have run both anyway. With me on the machine and Laura taking the dosh we were selling sellling selling for three hours. At 5pm I coulnted 300 pounds in our pot and a lot of candy floss stuck to my top, in my hand and stuck to my skin.
