I’m not sure how I ended up having the Wuxi boys around for a meal – I think they might even have invited themselves. Anyway I cleaned the place up a bit and bought a load of vegetables (Brett is a veggie) and made an effort at veggie curry with coconut milk. There was a vat of it but at the end of the evening it was all gone so I guess it must have been ok.
For pudding I had bought a blueberry pie from the German bakery and had some custard powder given to me by a departing ex-pat. Simon and Brett, being British were especially pleased with the custard.
Marek had brought a big box of peaches from Wuxi which Simon cut up and put in a bowl with some red wine and sugar and then stuck in the oven. However they never got to eat it because they were still so full from the blueberry pie.
There
is also about a pint of custard left which I am going to have to force
down for breakfast (not difficult for me to eat custard at any time of

I have several invitations to Wuxi and will have to make an effort next month to collect on those.
