I needed a lungful of fresh air (my lungs are full of Chinese dust) and where better to find it than beautiful Pembrokeshire. The forecast wasn’t good but when has that ever stopped the British going to the seaside?!
We arrived in Newport in glorious sunshine and as the sunset across the bay we were treated to a fantastic scene. Others had stopped on the road to watch in wonderment.
The following day, full of enthusiasm we headed out to Cwm yr Eglwys and sat in the drizzle looking out to sea. The constant light rain was the set the scene for the following day too.
Thursday saw us ambling through St David’s cathedral and sitting in the car in Solva eating our sandwich lunch. We gave up battling the weather and cut the day short and returned to the B&B.
Sitting in front of a log burner watching trashy tv is a great way to spend a wet afternoon.It has been three days of eating, drinking and sitting in the rain looking out to sea – welcome to the British summer!
