Planning and Pewking

I was a bit late for the book club as I tried a new route to Yulan Villas. I thought I’d try to get the Metro and then the bus. However, the 150 bus went the wrong way and I ended up walking miles.I don’t know how old these buses are but they don’t don’t very robust. The staircase of his one was barely hanging together.
After book club Isobel, Lynn and I decided to go somewhere different.
I suggested the Urban Planning Museum. I had heard it was good but
hadn’t been. So Isobel’s driver dropped us off there and we dismissed
him for the rest of the day.
We spent a few minutes looking round the place but because Lynn and
Isobel claimed they were hungry I agreed to go and find something to
eat. (We had been eating cakes and popcorn at the book club!).
They
decided to go to the Chinese restaurant on floor seven of the Nanjing
International Centre Shopping Mall. We were pretty much the only people
in the whole mall. God knows how they survive with no customers.
They had disposed of the menu which had magnificent Chinglish and lots
of pictures in. So we had to fall back on our faves. 6 steamed dumplings
and 6 fried dumplings and lots of green tea. I wasn’t looking forward to it.
However, I forced them down and afterwards we went our separate ways. I was at home and already feeling ill before Dick from Changhzou rang and suggested we meet up for a coffee as he was in Nanjing with the woman from 7 Coffee, to see Ronald the Venezuelan.
So I dragged myself out of the house again.
On returning home from Costa Coffee I went straight to bed with a bad stomach and the familiar food poisoning rumblings. I texted the girls but they seemed to be feeling fine.
Sure enough abut 9pm it all came to a head and my body was completely cleansed of badness.
I felt great afterwards but don’t think I’ll be frequenting that awful restaurant again.
