Walkies Shanghai style

dog pram1It’s one thing to dress your dog up in clothes and die its ears and tail pink but at least those ridiculous dogs area allowed to walk. And those dogs who travel in the basket on front of bicycles or in the footwell of motorbikes, are just travelling from one place to another. This poor poodle I spotted in Shanghai Centre was actually on his daily walk. I always think it’s cruel to put shoes on a dog because they were definitely not built for footwear. They have tough feet just for the purpose of walking on rough ground. However owners insist their dogs’ feet get dirty and then they bring the dirt into the house. Hence the doggy shoes.

But this man took it to the next level. Why bother putting shoes on your dog when you can just push it around in a pram like a child. There’s no way its feet will get dirty if it never put them on the ground. It’s another form of cruelty – just like if you take a young child to a park and allow them only to watch other young children running but banned them from doing so in case they hurt themselves.

Dogs need exercise. They don’t need a pram and they don’t need shoes. Let me walk through mud, let them sniff each other’s backsides.
