I have noticed that young Chinese couples cannot leave each other alone. Wherever they are clinging on to each other for dear life, as if they are going to have their loved one snatched away at any time. Even going up escalators, they continue with their full body-embrace making it difficult for anyone to get past them and difficult for them to disembark at the top. They hold on to each other for dear life. I wonder whether the lack of girls of marrying age in China has meant the boys have to be more attentive and kinder.
Certainly it always makes us westerners smile when we see the boyfriends carrying their girlfriend’s handbag, as if she doesn’t have the strength!
I don’t think I’d want any man who was prepared to carry my handbag. It seems such a poofy thing to do – what red-blooded man would feel at ease carrying a pink plastic handbag in public.
Who would want to snatch a man bloke that like – I think you’re safe love!
