Nightlife in Nanjing is vibrant. I often walk out at night with my camera and see what’s going on. 
It saves me having to watch CCTV9 which, being the only English channel on Chinese TV, is the one which we are all tempted to watch. However, it is only concerned with China and telling us where we can go on holiday in China. Except from the news, the content is completely uninteresting.
So I go out for a walk and see what’s happening. Nanjing is rebuilding itself and everywhere you go at night there are builders hammering, banging, drilling, cranes lifting huge pieces into place and dust choking the air we breathe. It is relatively easy to take pictures of builders as they are often standing around looking bored waiting for something and are pretty friendly.
