I was surprised this week to find a display of musical instruments on the metro system at Shaanxi Nan Lu metro station. It was in the new part of the station where line 10 and 12 meet. And what a nice change from the advertising posters which normally line the walls, screaming out at us as we make our weary way home.
I am guessing that the musical instruments allude to the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra which this station serves. There are many musical instrument shops on Fuxing Lu and sometimes when I walk past I can hear people playing the violins, cellos and pianos. It’s a lovely sound.
It’s nice to see a display such as this on the metro system, and I hope the city authorities are planning more throughout the whole network.
