Together with the Purple Mountian, the other main attractions of Nanjing is Xuanwu Lake. It’s huge and provides a good view of the railway station and the second highest building in China – Zifeng Tower. I decided to go there at night with my camera to see if I could get a shot of the tower all lit up.
It was OK but not fantastic. However, I was pleased to discover that the view to the railway station was a lot more picturesque. The illumination of the lotus plants in the foreground made the whole scene worth the journey.
High in the sky were the lights of dozens of kites. I couldn’t work out where they were flying from.
