Nibbling feet

One of the enduring wonders of life in China is why the Chinese consider chicken’s feet edible. They come in all sorts of ways; boiled, fried, crunchy, soggy and of course raw, so that you can make them them to your own taste. DeJi Plaza is the largest shopping centre in downtown Nanjing and BHG is the best and most expensive supermarket. It sells not just Chinese food but a reasonable selection of extremely expensive imported food.

I was browsing for some salad earlier and couldn’t resist taking a picture of the attractive deisplay they had made with their chickens’ feet. I just cannot imagine ever being hungry enough to want to put one in my mouth and yet they are very popular with the masses. Apparently they are tasty and nice and crunchy.
