So it has been 3 weeks since I kicked off the company formation and time for another meeting and a catch up with my agent. Fortunately the government office in charge of registering company names liked my first choice so I am not stuck with anything ridiculous.
This time I chose Wagas on Donghu Lu to save me going to Pudong and the man brought a thick pile of documents in Chinese to sign. I couldn’t understand any of them but my friend gave me an overview and I realised that I had to put my trust in this little chap who looks far too young to do all this legal work.
I think it’s the first time he has done it for a foreigner as he was explaining that there were extra hurdles to overcome and hoops to jump through as a result.
I am expecting everything to be completed in about 18 days which will take us through to about 16th May. The only bit which worries my slightly, is the bit where they need to put a piece of paper in my passport. I hope that bit goes without a hitch otherwise I will have to leave China. I am assuming that being a company owner in China will give me the right to live here… otherwise it will be a complete disaster!
