Street art on Fumin Lu

By | January 17, 2016

How did someone get permission to paint this piece of street furniture – I am not complaining, it’s great – but I can’t imagine the authorities being very receptive if I asked them if I could paint some grass and clouds on part of the city’s infrastructure.

Perhaps it’s the Shanghai Bansky, although I’m not sure he includes his website on the image. This wonderful cheerful work has the website of (presumably) the artist on the base. I checked – no it’s not porn, don’t worry – but shows larger pieces of street art.

Anything which makes the streets a more inviting place to walk is fine by me. Fumin Lu is not alone in needing a bit of colour. Let’s hope this is the first in a series to brighten up our streets and raise a smile.
