I will miss my office mates when I leave Nanjing at the end of this month for Shanghai – not that I saw them more than about once a month. I only know the names of 4 of them.
I took this video one lunchtime when I popped into the office to do some photocopying and it never fails to make me laugh. When I first came to Nanjing I couldn’t believe people slept at their desks but now of course it seems quite natural, especially in the summer when the heat is oppressive.
However, this scene is like some sort of apocalyptic scene – like most of them had been overcome by some noxious fumes and the few that survived hadn’t noticed.
