I was definitely the oldest one at the Bayer Start-up grind annual party this week. Naked Hub at Loushanguan seems a lot bigger than the other Naked offices but it still has the signature plant wall and high ceilings, sleeping spaces and comfy chairs around a main hall. It was an ideal place for the party.
There were loads of tech start-ups on display from health to museum displays, to wearables and 3D printing. There was a real buzz around the place and 400 people made a good sized crowd. Luckily I had got a free VIP ticket so all the booze and food was free too.
There was a really good mix of foreign and locals mostly young and eager. It was a great thing to see, a room full of tech savy young Chinese centric people.
Sadly I couldn’t wait longer enough to hear all the start-up pitches for this year but you can be assured there are some great new ideas coming out of China these days. It’s not all copied from other countries – they don’t need to any more, they have their own creatives now.
